On September 24th 2022, Iranian-Americans and friends of the community living and working in Washington D.C. gathered in Farragut Square in memory of Jina Mahsa Amini, a young woman who died in the custody of Iranian Morality Police. They were also standing in solidarity and support of the families, remaining loved ones and all the people of Iran in attempt to hold their government accountable for what many in the international community are calling human rights violations.

Volunteers plant white flags on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Thursday afternoon, representing a life lost to COVID-19 in the U.S. during the pandemic. The display, which is called - In America: Remember, is organized by a local D.C. artist Suzanne Brennan Firstenberg. The exhibition will be on display Friday, September 17 through Sunday, October 3, 2021.
